The Smiths: August 2011

So, my sweet baby turned 10 months old yesterday! Where in the world have those 10 months gone? Time is moving way.too.fast! I am amazed every day by Mac. I'm also amazed at what a wonderful baby the Lord has entrusted to us. I feel so unworthy!

Mac,

You are the sweetest, most precious baby that I have ever seen in my 32 years of life! You are a joy to your daddy and to me and to everyone else that we meet. I had to take you to the doctor today for a checkup. They pricked your finger. While the nurse was pricking your finger, I sang "Itsy Bitsy Spider." You acted like you didn't even feel the prick and you tried to clap when I finished singing (you couldn't clap though, the nurse was putting a band-aid on your finger:) You LOVE the "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and you clap for me every time that I sing it for you! You also try to move your finger and thumb to mimic the spider climbing up the "water spout." So, when the nurse left the room, I could hear her talking with another nurse....they were talking about what a sweet and beautiful baby you were. She also said that you had the prettiest blue eyes! I don't need to hear that from other people, because I know how wonderful you are, but I like hearing it any way....I'm so proud to be your mama! I love that you smile at everyone....I know that one day we will have to teach you about strangers, and about not talking to them....but, for now I love to watch how you make everyone feel so special. You will grin and wrinkle your nose, and clap for almost everyone that you see. I know that makes the day so much brighter for lots of people!

We went to a shower Sat night at Silver Lake. We didn't take you. You stayed with Nama and Jessi, and spent the night. So many people asked about you....Laddie even told us not to come back unless we had you with us:) You are just so wonderful. Everyone loves being around you!

So, here are some facts about you right now....you weigh 21 lbs and 12 oz. You are 28 inches long. You can say Mama and Dada, and you call us by our correct name:) You know how to divert attention from things....already....example....when I tell you "no," about grabbing an electric cord, or whatever, you will stop, and then look up at me with your sweet eyes, and you will begin waving with both hands, and grinning....you're a sweet mess:) You can say bye, hey, bah-bah, dog, and you're saying gaga right now...which seems funny to me, but Dr. Parra says thats great, because that just means you've conquered another consonant. You are a crawling champ. You crawl everywhere....and fast. We have to put pants on you every day now, so your knees and chubby feet won't stay red. You can stand and hold on to things, but you haven't pulled up to a standing position yet on your own. You have pulled yourself up to your knees though:) You love going to Mrs. Cindy's and playing with Krue. You two laugh and giggle and wave when you see each other...it's so sweet! You do the same thing when you see your cousin, Layla! You try to stay up so long when we have friends over, but as soon as we take you to your room and change you for the night, you try to dive into your crib. You still love bath time. You really splash now.....and you get water everywhere! You also love to bend over and put your face in the suds.....I tell you no every time and I try not to let you do that because I'm afraid that you are putting your face too far in the water, but you do it anyway....every time that we bathe you....and you sit and grin with a face covered in suds! You ALWAYS want to play with the TV remote and with my phone....you love pressing the buttons! Speaking of phones, you LOVE talking on the phone. When you talk to your daddy, you will say DaDa and you will wave at the phone and will kiss the phone. Your daddy says that you do the same when you are talking to me also. It's so obvious that you know our voices on the phone:) I love it!! You make me the happiest, most blessed mother on the face of this earth. Thank you Mac for being the perfect fit for our sweet little family. I'm so thankful that God chose us to be your parents! Happy 10 months! I love you to pieces!
