....only 16 days to go:) So, last Thursday, Sept 30th, we had a doctor's visit with Dr. Hardin at the office on HWY 290. She told us that Baby Smith was around 7.5 lbs. and was no longer breech. The 7.5 lbs. is a little scary (I was 10 lbs., 1 oz.), but I was happy about him no longer being breech. She then looked at Ben and me and said that he could come now at any time. This raised my anxiety level tremendously. We had most everything done, but we still needed our glider and travel system. So, on Friday night, we picked up the Chicco Travel System, and on Sat. night, we picked up the Glider. If you know Ben and me, this is not how we would typically spend our weekend nights. But, we REALLY needed to get things done....and, we had a great time making our purchases:)
This past weekend, was also our 2 year anniversary. On Oct. 3rd, we were married 2 years....the best two years of my life:) We had dinner at PF Changs on Saturday night, and spent part of the day on Sunday in downtown Greenville. We had lunch at Overlook Grill. We had decided not to spend alot on gifts, since we are still buying things for the baby.....but Ben still managed to buy the perfect things for me. He bought me a Bible (the last Bible purchase that I made was in Middle School...I REALLY needed a new one), some pearl earrings (I LOVE the simplicity of pearls...but, I had never purchased a decent pair.... I now have a great pair of pearls), and a clean cotton scented candle ( I love clean smelling candles:) Ben also gave me the sweetest card that he has ever given me!!!! I love him more and more every day of my life!!!!! On Sunday night, we put together and put away our Baby Smith purchases....I love "playing," with everything that we have for Baby Smith....the perfect way to spend an afternoon and evening:)
This past Tuesday, Oct. 5th....we had a bit of a scare. I was enjoying my planning period at school, when I realized that I hadn't felt Baby Smith move in an hour or so. I tried to press on his little bottom to make him move....and he did, but he was very sluggish. This terrified me!!! He always moves....constantly!!! So, I called the doctor, and they told me to immediately come in to be hooked up to the monitors, to make sure that everything was ok. I hurried on my way. I called Ben. Now, Ben normally works around the Greer area, but on this day, he was on the other side of Seneca. I, of course, got upset talking to him and started crying. He is so good at comforting me though:) He was immediately on his way to meet me at the doctor's office. He suggested that I call my mother to also meet me, since she was closer. She and my daddy arrived just a few minutes after I was hooked up. Ben was able to get there in about one hour. I was sooo happy to see him. Baby Smith was fine....just not moving at the time, but he was moving before we left. Dr. Peyero assured me that we did the right thing by coming in, and that if I needed to, I could come in every day to be monitored. He is such a great doctor.
While at the office, Ben and I met with Dr. Peyero about the plans of Baby Smith's birth if he wasn't here by our due date, Oct. 28th. Dr. Peyero said that we could either induce on the 28th with the doctor on call, or we could set up a time between weeks 39 and 40 to be induced with any doctor that we chose. We, of course, wanted Peyero to deliver us, so we asked his schedule. He said that he was working on Sat., the 23rd and on Sunday, the 24th. We set up to be induced with Dr. Peyero on Saturday, Oct. 23rd at 8 am...only 16 more days. I can't wait!!!! I'm so excited about meeting this sweet baby boy!!!! That Sat is also perfect timing!!! Everything surrounding the pregnancy has been timed just right. Thank goodness that God has perfect planning!!!!!
So, we have another appointment today at 3:30. We will also have an ultrasound just to make sure that he isn't breech. I can't wait to hear his sweet heartbeat and see his sweet face:)
Baby Smith....we CANNOT wait to meet you and love on you!!!!!!
