Just thinking about my sweet baby......

I just wanted to write down some things about Mac that I don't want to ever forget.....

Wednesday, I took him to see Dr. Parra for his 15 month shots....it. was. awful. He now knows that when we go to the doctor, it usually means that shots are involved.....he even cries when he sees the sweet nurse who usually administers those shots. I HATE taking him to those visits!! He looks at me and cries, "mama," and I just have to hold his sweet body down for the nurses. It really is terrible, but I know that the shots are for his own good. He weighed 26 lbs and 12 oz. Dr. Parra was asking us all of the developmental questions.....can he walk?, can he stack blocks?, does he throw things on the floor and look for them?, etc. She then asked, can he say 3-6 words. I started laughing. He could say 3-6 words when he was 9 months old.....he says what seems like 400 words now.....and they are all so precious!!!!

His favorite word(s) right now is "horsie.....neigh" (not sure about the spelling). When we visit my daddy and mother, my daddy always takes Mac across the street to see the horses and to feed them an apple. He LOVES them!!

Other words.....ohhhh, cold (my favorite....he even knows the appropriate times to say it:), dada, mama, mimi, paypa, pappy, nama, banks, blue, purple, dog, ruff ruff, nite nite, shhhh, car, truck (he points to Ben's truck and says truck:), gone gone (which means that he is finished eating:), hey, bye bye (he begins saying this, and trying to kiss everyone when HE is ready to leave, not necessarily when Ben and I are ready to leave:), ball, roar (for the lion), door, eye, ear, hair, nose, mouth (he can actually point to them too:), baby (he says this when he sees other babies, as well as pics of himself:), house, there are other words and sounds too that he makes all of the time....I posted them in an earlier post, boat, he loves singing itsy bitsy spider....and he knows the motions, rock (this is when he wants me to rock him),  he tries to copy most everything we say to him, couch, eat, scarf, sock, shoe (he picks these up for me in the mornings when I am dressing him),  hat, there are so many others....which is why I am trying to write some of them down. The time is passing too quickly and I don't want to forget anything that my sweet baby does!!

So, every night, Ben and I both take Mac into his room. Mac doesn't like to rock, because he just wants to jump into his crib (he loves going to bed.....at 6:30pm....for 12 hours:)....but Ben hugs him then I get him and hug and kiss him and put him to bed, as he is diving into his crib. Last week, he started telling us "nite nite." So sweet to hear!

In the middle of the night....if you cry....which is rare....I jump up and run to your room, so I can rock you. This is really the only time that you want to be rocked. Most of those times, you fall asleep pretty quickly in my arms, but I just keep rocking and singing, because I know that these times won't be around forever.....those times are so special to me.

This past Saturday, another one of Mac's firsts.....I was talking to him, and I guess that he was tired of hearing me talk, so he put his sweet finger up to his mouth, and said, "Shhhh." I didn't love him telling me to be quiet, but it was so sweet that he had learned how to do that. His sitter lets Mac walk into the room while she is putting Krue to bed, and then the two walk out and she tells Mac to "Shhhh." Guess that's where he learned that, because I have never told that baby to Shhhh....I love every sweet sound/word that comes out of his sweet mouth:)

Also, he LOVES turning the TV on and off. I told him one morning, about a week ago, to turn the TV off for Mommy and he walked right into the living room, to the TV and pressed the button.  He now thinks that this is part of his morning routine.

Mac,
You still amaze me everyday of your life! I know that I've said this before, but I never knew that the love for your child could be so wonderful and so fulfilling.  I love watching you learn new things, but at the same time, it reminds me of how quickly time is passing. I just want to take some of the days and moments with you and hold onto them forever! I knew that God had the perfect plan designed for me, and I saw part of this unfold when he sent your daddy into my life, but he has blown my mind once again by making you and allowing us to be your parents. He made the most wonderful baby for us! I'm so proud of you . I love you more than you will ever know!

Mommy
